Building Integrated Photovoltaics
About BIPV: Aesthetics First
BIPV is related both to electric technology and construction technology covering energy, environmental, aesthetics, building energy performance, and multi-functionality of the building envelope.
Building integrated photovoltaics can be:
Facades, roofs, windows, walls
and many other things that is combined with photovoltaic material. You can seamlessly integrate photovoltaics with the rest of your real estate property.
BIPV Solutions
BIPV takes into account the façade design.
For instance, the use of anti-reflective modules to be placed as cladding on the rear-ventilated façades, the uniform appearance of all the building surfaces, the invisibility of the fittings, simplicity in the façade construction, solutions with standard details, etc. It is important to note that not only the aesthetics is a high priority, but also a “good” performance is requested.
The aesthetical appearance of the BIPV façades and the BIPV roof arises from the use of innovative coloured PV modules that can be combined with attention to the geometrical aspects and existing constrains of the roof and the façades. The modules technology is characterised by a colour coating on the outer surface of the module’s glass that makes the modules a matte panels and the PV cells are hardly recognisable.
BIPV Builds Trust of Architects
PV modules, with specific characteristics developed for building integration, with appealing features (such as colour, texture, shape, surface finishing, and light materials) conceived for integration in existing buildings.
